Central United Church has been the first church in St.Thomas-Elgin working with the Alzheimer Society Elgin-St.Thomas over the last few months to be trained in the Blue Umbrella – Dementia Friendly Community initiative. The Blue Umbrella is part of the Dementia Friendly Community initiative done by the Alzheimer Society that works with organizations and businesses to reduce stigma, encourage understanding, promote awareness and support those living with dementia in the present and in the future. On Wednesday May 24, 2017 Central United Church completed the process and received the decal for their window.
